A LITTLE FRUIT
THAT LOOKS LIKE A POTATO
BUT THE SAPODILLA TASTES LIKE
BROWN SUGAR AND CARAMEL

We source sapodilla from India, Thailand, Vietnam and Jamaica.
Sapodillas are a must-try for exotic fruit lovers! The small, brown-skinned potato-looking fruit, nicknamed the brown sugar fruit, will be sure to wow your tastebuds with its sweetness. We think it tastes like brown sugar and caramel, which is something you wouldn’t quite expect from fruit, and that’s the magic of our exotic fruits.
Sapodilla is native to Mexico and Central America. However, it can be found in many parts of the world, such as India and South America. The round, egg-shaped fruit has soft flesh and can be grainy like a pear. You must leave sapodilla at room temperature to ripen: our sapodilla will usually arrive firm, so wait until they’re soft and ripe to eat! Remember to remove the large black seeds inside before eating, as it usually has one to three.
You can eat sapodilla fresh, simply cut the fruit in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon to enjoy its juiciness. We find it’s a delightful treat with its unique flavour and creamy texture.
Sapodilla is not just a treat for your tastebuds. It’s also packed with many health benefits; it’s rich in fibre and is a great source of several vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A and vitamin C.
Sapodilla is a tropical fruit you should be sure to add to your mealtimes for a healthy balanced diet. Due to its natural sugars, sapodilla provides a quick energy boost, making it an ideal snack.
